TRAVEL PROGRAM CROATIAN WILDERNESS KL3 | VALL TOURS

Day 1  Saturday: Split - Pučišća (L)

Departure from Split at 1:00 PM, followed by lunch on board and a swim stop. Cruise to Pučišća on the north side of Brač, a typical Mediterranean town at the end of a deep bay, famous for the white Brač stone used to build Liverpool Cathedral, the White House in Washington, and other notable buildings. There is an option to visit a stonemasonry workshop, one of the few such workshops still operating in Europe. Enjoy local food, wine, and renowned olive oil. Overnight in the port of Pučišća.

Day 2  Sunday: Pučišća - Korčula (B, L)

Early in the morning, depart for Korčula, the birthplace of Marco Polo. Stop along the way and enjoy a morning swim in the crystal-blue sea. Lunch will be served either at the tip of the Pelješac Peninsula (near Lovište) or in the peaceful bay of Kneža on Korčula Island. Arrival in the afternoon, followed by a guided sightseeing tour of the remarkable town of Korčula (included in Premium and Premium Superior). According to legend, Korčula was founded by the Trojan hero Antenor in the 12th century BC. Many legends and stories can be found here, along with impressive monuments. In the evening, we recommend visiting one of the many local taverns or enjoying the beautiful view from the numerous cafés and bars. Overnight in Korčula.

Day 3  Monday: Korčula - Lastovo (Ubli) (B, L, CD)

Before leaving Korčula, why not take a stroll along the marina or visit the nearby market to buy souvenirs and other local specialties. Continue cruising toward Lastovo, the most remote inhabited island in Dalmatia (approx. €10.00—paid on the spot for entry to Lastovo Nature Park). Dock in the port of Ubli. From there, a local bus or taxi takes you to the village of Lastovo to visit a local winery and taste indigenous wine varieties. The island is surrounded by many smaller islets, with secluded bays and coves perfect for diving. The town is also known for its series of small churches and unusually shaped chimneys, unique to Lastovo. Overnight at anchor in a bay, with the Captain’s Dinner on board (included in Premium and Premium Superior).

Day 4  Tuesday: Lastovo - Ravnik (Green Cave) - Vis (B, L)

Early morning departure for the island of Vis, which—due to its unique geographic position—was a strategic port of the Yugoslav navy and off-limits to tourists for many years. Vis has retained a special charm that reflects “the Mediterranean as it once was.” Near Vis is the small islet of Ravnik, home to the fascinating Green Cave (ticket approx. €10.00). It was named for the unusual greenish light that reflects in the sea through an opening at the top of the cave. A short swim stop depending on weather conditions, then sailing on to the town of Vis for the night. Vis developed near the remains of ancient Issa, the first urban center in Croatia, founded by the Greeks in the 4th century BC. Visit the remains of Roman baths, the Town Museum, or take a stroll while enjoying views of the beautiful Villa Rustica along the coast.

Day 5  Wednesday: Vis - Biševo (Blue Cave) - Stari Grad (B, L)

Early morning cruise to the islet of Biševo to visit the Blue Cave, a magnificent natural phenomenon (entrance fee paid on the spot: €18.00 per person). After the Blue Cave, the cruise continues to Stari Grad on the island of Hvar. Records confirm that Hvar is the sunniest island on the Adriatic. Free afternoon to explore this unique town and its famous horseshoe-shaped bay. The Stari Grad Plain is the oldest in Croatia and the best-preserved example of the ancient Greek agricultural system. Both the old town and the plain are part of UNESCO World Heritage. Overnight in one of Stari Grad’s ports—either the main port or the ferry port (about 1.2 miles / 2 km away), depending on availability. Optional guided tour of Stari Grad (included in the Premium Superior package).

Day 6  Thursday: Stari Grad - Bol (B, L)

After breakfast, cruise to the beautiful island of Brač and the famous town of Bol, home to one of the most unusual and most photographed beaches in Dalmatia. Swim stop at Zlatni Rat, the well-known beach that shifts from side to side, changing shape with changes in wind and waves. Bol is a typical fishing village. It has recently become a popular tourist destination, but it has retained its charm. Take a walk along the seaside promenade or ride a bike along the waterfront. Hike or rent a scooter to visit Vidova Gora (2,552 ft / 778 m, the highest peak on all Adriatic islands) for a spectacular view over Bol and beyond, or visit the semi-abandoned village of Murvica. Find a nice tavern or restaurant and taste excellent fresh fish, local wines, and other delicacies of this unique island. Overnight in Bol.

Day 7  Friday: Bol - Split (B, L)

Enjoy the best of the last day by relaxing and swimming in various quiet coves on the island of Brač before arriving in Split in the afternoon. Split is Croatia’s second-largest city, a major university and maritime hub, and the capital of Dalmatia. The historic complex of Split with Diocletian’s Palace is protected by UNESCO, and its historical and cultural monuments delight both locals and the many visitors who fall in love with this beauty that is more than 1,000 years old. There is an option to join a guided tour of the old town (included in the Premium Superior package), including Diocletian’s Palace, built by the Roman emperor as his retirement residence.

Day 8  Saturday: Split (B)

After an early breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to the crew and all new friends. We hope to see you again on one of our cruises!
