ITINERARY: SOUTHERN EXPLORER KL2 | VALL TOURS (CROATIA)

Legend: B = breakfast, L = lunch, D = dinner, CD = Captain’s Dinner

Day 1 (Saturday): Split, Croatia – Makarska (L)

Depart Split at 1:00 PM for Makarska (late arrivals can join there). Lunch is served while cruising along Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast. Enjoy an afternoon swim stop in a secluded bay. For thrill-seekers, there’s an optional zipline ride over the Cetina River canyon. Spend the evening in Makarska—walk the waterfront to the lighthouse or visit the main square with its impressive church. Overnight in Makarska.

Day 2 (Sunday): Makarska – Mljet (B, L)

Early departure for Mljet with a swim stop near the Pelješac Peninsula. Part of Mljet is a national park (entrance fee paid on site, approx. €25.00). In the afternoon, visit the saltwater lakes, the small islet of St. Mary in the middle of the Great Lake, plus the church and monastery. Walk or rent a bike to explore. Overnight in Polača or Pomena.

Day 3 (Monday): Mljet – Dubrovnik, Croatia (B, L)

After breakfast, cruise to Dubrovnik—Croatia’s most famous city—once called “heaven on earth” by George Bernard Shaw. Enjoy spectacular coastline views along the way. On arrival, explore on your own or join a guided city tour (included in Premium and Premium Superior), followed by an optional cable car ride to Mt. Srđ for panoramic views. Don’t miss Stradun and a walk along part of the 1,940 m city walls. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

Day 4 (Tuesday): Dubrovnik – Šipan or Trstenik (B, L, CD)

Late morning departure to Šipan Island or the village of Trstenik on the Pelješac Peninsula. Enjoy a great afternoon swim stop and free time, with an optional visit to a local winery. In the evening, enjoy a special Captain’s Dinner on board (included in Premium Superior and Premium). Overnight in port.

Day 5 (Wednesday): Šipan/Trstenik – Korčula, Croatia (B, L)

After breakfast, cruise to Korčula—often linked to explorer Marco Polo. Lunch on board in a bay near Korčula Town. The town’s walls and bastions date back to the 13th century, and it’s filled with churches and museums. Join an optional guided tour (included in Premium Superior) or enjoy wine tasting and local bites at a winery before choosing a seaside restaurant for dinner. Overnight in Korčula.

Day 6 (Thursday): Korčula – Hvar, Croatia (B, L)

Early cruise to the Pakleni Islands near Hvar for lunch and swimming. Later, join an optional afternoon tour of Hvar (included in Premium Superior). Hvar is known for its Renaissance cathedral and Europe’s oldest public theater (built in 1612). This jet-set favorite offers great restaurants and bars—don’t forget to pick up local lavender. Overnight in Hvar.

Day 7 (Friday): Hvar – Brač (Bol) – Split (B, L)

Next stop is Brač Island and the most famous beach on Croatia’s coast—Zlatni Rat near Bol—perfect for a swim stop. Bol is a charming fishing town with a relaxed vibe. After lunch, on the way back to Split, you can optionally join a Cetina River rafting excursion. Arrive in Split and join an optional guided tour of this UNESCO-listed city, including the famous Diocletian’s Palace. Overnight in Split.
